Field Surveying
Field surveys are part of the work that we do, whether it is exploratory area research or monitoring the effectiveness of water solutions. Our water experts are often out in the field to measure water quality and quantity of surface water and groundwater. We strongly believe in combining theory and practice, and we base our advice on self-obtained and reliable data through our presence in the field.
High-tech as well as traditional measuring instruments allow us to collect real time field data, such as groundwater levels, flow rates and discharges, soil moisture, pF, oxygen, EC, pH, nitrate, and weather conditions.
The field surveying work we conduct includes salinization and desiccation research, peat oxidation, monitoring precipitation lenses in coastal areas, monitoring underground storage systems, installing monitoring wells with monitoring equipment, surface water monitoring, soil research and mapping aquifers.

Our inhouse measuring instruments are used to perform frequency domain electromagnetic (FDEM) and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) measurements to study the soil and the water flow.
The DualEM allows us to quickly measure the conductivity of the soil to a depth of 6 meters, which provides information about the depth of the freshwater-saltwater boundary and soil structure.
The CVES gives detailed resistance measurements up to 80 meters depth in the soil to map precipitation lenses, aquifers, and clay and peat layers. The sTEM (see image left) is used in Ethiopia to map aquifers to a depth of several hundred meters.
